The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Geoffrey Hanley, took to his social media account to announce the initiative of Community Improvement Councils. These initiatives will help to identify sustainable ways to improve the constituency. The Deputy Prime Minister shared that he met with the community leaders on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

He shared glimpses of the meeting on his social media account. Taking to his social media, Dr Hanley expanded upon his commitment to work to improve the constituency that he is a representative of in the government of St Kitts and Nevis. The Member of the Parliament shared that he interacted with the members of the Constituency 1 community regarding the initiative.

Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley shared on his social media that the participants were excited and willing to work towards building stronger, cleaner, and safer communities. Accordingly, as a Parliament of St Kitts and Nevis member, Hanley pledged his complete support to the initiative. At the same time, he urged attendees to work together as a committed team.

According to the update shared by Deputy Prime Minister Hanley, A major action item that came out of the meeting was the many volunteers who expressed interest in serving on the East Fest committee this coming September. These councils will serve as the eyes and ears of our communities, those most needing an advocate to address their immediate and long-term needs.

Dr Geoffrey Hanley stated that they are looking forward to the great things that lie ahead for our communities. The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis is currently serving as the acting prime minister in the absence of Dr Terrance Drew. He is looking after all the mechanisms of the country while the prime minister and his delegation represent St Kitts and Nevis in London, at the coronation of the king of England, Charles the Third.
