Cricket West Indies President Dr Kishore Shallow, Vice President Azim Bassarath, and Chief Operating Officer Lynford Inverary greeted Chris Dehring at the CWI Headquarters at Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG), as he became the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cricket West Indies, on February 3, 2025.

Chris Dehring reflected on his responsibilities and stated that he took on the role of the CEO of the organization while being fully aware of its legacy, with an aim to create a new course on the foundation laid by other before him, while embracing modern realities, reigniting their competitive spirit, and ensuring a never forgotten legacy for West Indies cricket.

President Dr Kishore Shallow said that the appointment of Chris Dehring as the new CEO is like the start of a new era for West Indies cricket, transforming and guiding them both on and off the field with his vision, experience, understanding and passion for cricket.

He further added that the future of West Indies cricket requires bold decisions, fresh perspectives, and an unshakable belief and that he is confident that Chris Dehring will help West Indies steer towards that future.

Appointment of Chris Dehring as the new CEO of Cricket West Indies

Chris Dehring was appointed in place of the former CEO, Johnny Grave, who stepped down from the role in October 2024.

He emerged as the top choice from a highly competitive group of over 50 applicants spanning Europe, Australia, Afghanistan, India, and the Caribbean.

The appointment of Chris Dehring as the new CEO shows a commitment of renewal and progress, with CWI redefining its approach at a global level – balancing tradition with innovation, restoring competitiveness, and strengthening the deep connection between the team and its people.

Chris Dehring was the managing director and CEO of the 2007 ODI World Cup in the Caribbean and has great knowledge in finance, sports management, media and telecommunications.

He also founded SportsMax (Caribbean sports broadcaster) and is the co-founder of Dehring, Bunting & Golding (Investment Bank of Jamaica).
