Chinese state broadcaster eliminated Sunday’s Arsenal-Manchester City football from schedule over Ozil’s remarks on Uighurs Muslims issue.
State broadcaster of China, CCTV eliminated Sunday’s Arsenal-Manchester City football game from its schedule after remarks made by German footballer and Gunners midfielder Mesut Ozil.
Recently, the player posted on social media regarding China’s treatment to Uighur Muslims.
Chinese Football Association says that Ozil’s comments were false, unacceptable and had hurt the sentiments of Chinese football supporters.
Ozil, who is also a Muslim, posted on his social media by calling Uighurs as warriors who resist persecution and scrutinised both China and the silence of Muslims in answer.
China has consistently refused to mistreat Uighur Muslims in the country. While as per the right group, about one million people mainly from the Uighur Community, are detained in high-security camps.
While China says that they are giving vocation training to educate and combat violent religious extremism.
In October, the US National Basketball Association suffered financial damages after an online remark from a team manager aroused a crisis in its relations with China.
