It has been reported that the officials have said a man has died and another man is in serious condition after an incident of shooting near which took place near a skateboard park in Toronto on Tuesday evening.
Emergency crews had been called to the Vanderhoof Skatepark, which is located beside the Leonard Linton Park and towards the southwest of Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue East, at around 7:30 p.m.
It was reported by the neighbours, and the people at the park that they had heard multiple gunshots.
The two male victims were found after a short time. The witnesses said that the incident had happened close to the skatepark and that it appeared as if the gunfire had happened closer to the Research Road on the south side of the skatepark.
A spokesperson for the Toronto Paramedics has said that one of the two patients had been taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Later, a police spokesperson said that the victim died in hospital.
The spokesperson said that the second victim had non-life-threatening but serious injuries.
Later, it was disclosed by the Police that the second victim’s injuries are being considered minor.
Saman Samiee Asfahani, who has been living in the neighbourhood where the shooting happened, for three years, said that he and his family had just returned home after visiting another park when his daughter saw one of her friends in the park close to the shooting scene.
After a short time, Asfahani said that he had also heard the gunfire.
Samiee Asfahani added that after he heard the sound of shooting, he just called for his daughter and his wife, then he grabbed his daughter, and ran towards his friend’s house.
He said that he was so scared because of the shooting and that he is not happy.
