The 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) U20 Beach Volleyball Championship has kicked off at the St. Kitts Marriott Beach, Frigate Bay. On the first day of the tournament St Kitts Volleyball team delivered a power packed performance.
For this year’s championship St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Volleyball Association has fielded four teams in both categories U20 men’s and women’s. By winning the total 12 matches on the first day in both categories, the federation made a strong start in the tournament in which the women’s team won 5 matches and men’s teams won 12.
On the first day of the tournament Alwani and Pinney became the star players as they won all three of the matches that they played. Both were playing in pool D where they defeated the Antigua and Barbuda, Vincent and the Grenadines and British Virgin Islands.
Moreover in the pool A and C players also delivered a good performance. Amritt and Brown won 1 match against Grenada and lost to Saint Lucia in the pool A. In the pool C Woodley and Evelyn were playing against Sint Maarten and won that match. But they lost their remaining two matches against Dominica and Bermuda. Bullen and Campbell were playing in the pool B and lost both of their matches against Saint Eustatius and Antigua and Barbuda.
Additionally, the men’s team also played outstanding on the first day as in the pool A William and Rennix won their both matches against the Bermuda and Vincent and the Grenadines. Troy Penchone and Shiwamber played in pool B and defeated the Dominica and Antigua and Barbuda team.
In the pool C Douglas and Williams were competing against the Sint Maarten where they dominated both sets and won the match. Both players lost their match against the Saint Lucia and British Virgin Islands. Edwards and Levine were playing in pool D where they faced the British Virgin islands and Grenada team. Both players won the match against both teams and lost their last match against Antigua and Barbuda.
Notably, the tournament is a three day event and results of the second and last day have yet to be announced.
