The Parliamentary Representative of St Christopher 3, West Basseterre, Hon Konris Maynard and his wife, Shamara have sent financial assistance to over a dozen St Kitts and Nevis students overseas impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19).
“Shamara and I deposited our part of the Student Relief Fund to the accounts of 14 overseas students in the amount of US$200.00 per student,” MP Maynard announced in a FaceBook Saturday.
“Details on where you can give your donation should be available in the coming week. Stay tuned!” Maynard posted.
On March 20, Maynard issued a public call for the Government of St Kitts and Nevis to assist Kittitian and Nevisian students studying overseas and who are caught up in the throes of the COVID-19.
On March 28, Maynard and his wife launched a COVID-19 Overseas Student Relief Fund by committing EC$5,000 to assist St Kitts and Nevis students studying abroad and who have been impacted by COVID-19.
