Basseterre, St Kitts: National Artist Icon Vaughn Anslyn unveiled his latest artworks setting the stage for the significant 41st Independence Celebration on September 1st, 2024.
Vaughn Anslyn revealed his new remarkable masterpieces which are a series of full-sized portraits of the nation’s revered National Heroes at the Government Headquarters. The artists’ made portraits are displayed on the building’s exterior front.
The artworks were arranged in a manner that was criticised by the public and on their feedback, the portraits were notably re-arranged.
The portraits that have been repositioned at the Government Headquarters include the Father of Independence and Only Living National Hero, Rt Excellent and Rt Kennedy A. Simmonds as the centrepieces.
These two prominent portraits are surrounded by other four heroes: J.N. France and Robert Bradshaw to the right and Dr Simeon Dani and Caleb Azariah Paul Southwell to the left.
Anslyn’s work has been sincerely commended for its artistic excellence and the significant attention to minute details.
His portraits and their arrangement truly honours the national heroes and reflects their significance and relation to the St Kitts and Nevis’ Independence.
Significantly, St Kitts and Nevis is all set to celebrate its 41st Independence Day under the theme ‘Together, A People, Proud and Strong: Independence 41,’ highlighting the unity among the citizens.
The government has also announced a spectacular list of events to marking the celebration. The festivities have already kicked off on August 28, 2024 and will continue till October 27, 2024, offering two months of exciting and patriotic events, with everyone enjoying the rich culture and tradition of St Kitts and Nevis.
