St Kitts and Nevis: The Warner Park Cricket Stadium in St Kitts is undergoing significant construction and renovations including a new Jumbotron and improvement of the lightening infrastructure ahead of the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins, shared the development of the stadium through his official social media. He stated that these enhancements will greatly improve the experience for both the players and the fans alike.
The Minister expressed his feeling of pride over the upgrades that are being carried out by St Kitts’ own local experts that showcases the exceptional talent within the community.
Minister Duggins said that the project will elevate the sporting facility and also provide valuable job opportunities for the locals, with an outcome of a major boost in economic growth and development.
Additionally, he asked everyone to be ready to cheer the SKN Patriots in the coming CPL. “Let’s come together and support our team for an unforgettable cricket season,” he added.
Notably, St Kitts and Nevis hosts several matches of this much anticipated cricket league at the Warner Park Stadium every year. This also showcases the small island’s ability to host both regional as well as international matches.
In addition to this, the pitch of the Warner Park Stadium has always turned out to be favourable for the batsmen, and so it turns out to be a great venue for cricket as it has good playing conditions.
The CPL will begin on August 30, and will continue till October 7, 2024 across several mesmerizing venues in the Caribbean.
The tournament will commence in Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and continue at Warner Park in St Kitts. The venues for other matches have also been revealed such as the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Saint Lucia, Kensington Oval in Barbados and Queen’s Park Oval, Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.
