The Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force has made 34 convictions from January to mid-December 2023, including four on December 13 2023.
Adrian Justin Bart was sentenced for Indecent Assault.
Adrian Justin Bart, from Cabbage Tree, Cayon, St. Kitts, has been sentenced to three years and six months in His Majesty’s Prison for Indecent Assault.
The criminal act was committed on July 3, 2019, against an eleven (11)-year-old female in the area of Upper Cayon.
His Judge, Iain Morley KC, handed down Adrian Justin Bart’s sentence on December 13, 2023, at the High Court in Basseterre.
Shromari Hanley has been charged with murder.
Police have charged 23-year-old Shomari Hanley, also known as ‘Jelly Man’, with two warrants for the murders of 23-year-old Lequani T. James and 24-year-old Kevin Collins in Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s.
The offences were committed on November 22, 2023, in Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peter’s, St. Kitts. The charges were laid on December 13, 2023, at the Basseterre Police Station.
Ira Maynard was sentenced for Manslaughter.
Ira Maynard of Pitcairn Street, Newtown, Basseterre, St. Kitts, has been sentenced to His Majesty’s Prison for the offence of Manslaughter.
The offence occurred on July 5, 2019, and resulted in the death of Devis Manners.
Initially charged with Murder, Maynard pleaded guilty to Manslaughter and was sentenced to serve fifteen (15) years in prison.
His sentence was handed down on December 13, 2023, by the judge of Justice Iain Morley KC at the High Court in Basseterre.
Juvenile charged with Manslaughter.
The Police have formally charged a seventeen (17)-year-old male for the offence of Manslaughtering.
The criminal act was committed on December 10, 2023, in Phillip’s Village on St. Kitts, and resulted in the death of forty-two (42)-year-old Chelston T. Harvey alias ‘Ink’.
The juvenile was charged on December 13, 2023, at the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) office, Stanford Building, Basseterre.
Social media users have flooded Facebook with comments expressing their anger and displeased with the sentences that were passed to the convicts.

“Three years while the child suffers for life…..St Kitts, it would help if you looked at your sentencing; children are the future. It would help if you did more to protect them from predators like this for three years, and they will come out and offend again.”
