Valiana Edwards, 15 years old, was found unharmed at a residence on Market Street, ending the search for her by the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
Valiana Edwards is a student at Basseterre Senior High School. She was reported to have gone missing on December 5th and was last seen at her home in La Guerite, St Kitts. Her family reported her disappearance to the police.
During the search, the Police spokesperson stated that anyone who is not a legal guardian and is caught hiding a minor shall be liable for harbouring a missing child. It has been reported that one male adult was arrested in connection with Valiana’s missing, and he’s currently in police custody.
All further information has yet to be made public by the police as they’re continuing with their investigations.
Social media users have flooded Facebook and Instagram with messages expressing their joy and gratitude for the work of St Kitts and Nevis police officers.
Valiana Edwards’s mom has also taken to social media and thanked the officers at The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. She wrote, “Thank you for being able to bring home my child safely; thank you for your tireless and never
ending searches that you put out and a very special thanks to Sgt Battice for always listening to my messages any time, day or night”.
St Kitts Nevis Defence Force has commemorated the police for their work. They noted, ” We do need more of this; we are happy she was found and is safe, and thank you, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force”.
A user wrote, “Thank God that she found unharmed.”
Another wrote, “I can only imagine what her family was going through; no child deserves to go through that trauma, and I wish the perpetrator would be punished.”
