Premier Mark Brantley expressed gratitude to the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis who worked day and night and contributed to the growth of the Twins Island.
Premier Mark Brantley urged people to work together to build a better nation during his New Year address.
Mark Brantley called for all the St Kitts and Nevis residents to to commit themselves to building a culture of responsible citizenship, selfless citizenship, citizenship that is service-oriented, citizenship that is honest, trustworthy, and compassionate.
Mark Brantley emphasised that it is important for the twin islands to arouse a desire to practice the contact sport of national engagement and national intervention.
It should awaken our national consciousness and national pride and inspire us to focus on the task of nation-building. As citizens of this country, we must understand and accept that we are together and that only together, as a people with a common destiny, can we create a better today and a better tomorrow…” noted Mark Brantley.
Premier Brantley recalled the work of the Nevis Island Administration for the year 2023 and spoke of the focus for 2024.
Premier Brantley emphasised that the government was going to focus on the following in 2024 :
- continuing the growth momentum by giving refocused attention to infrastructural development,
- providing opportunities for the youth,
- providing safety nets for the most vulnerable,
- expanding agriculture.
Premier Brantley highlighted that the government was going to help in developing the national revolution by concentrating on areas of job creation while reforming and expanding the delivery of education and healthcare.
He emphasised that the government will take ownership of the development of the twin’s land by creating an environment for local private-sector investment and public-private partnerships.
Premier Brantley highlighted that in the year 2024, the government was going to put pressing action to stimulate economic growth through investment diversification and increased agricultural production.
We will wage a war on poverty and dependency and strengthen economic inclusion by creating greater opportunities for the growth of micro-enterprises and small businesses.” He noted
