St Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris suffered a humiliating defeat in the St Kitts and Nevis National Assembly Friday night.
Harris, who polioted The Constitution of St Christopher and Nevis (Tenure of Office of Prime Minister) (Amendment) Bill, 2019 on Thursday morning failed to get the required 8 votes from lawmakers when the vote was taken around 8:45 on Friday night.
Seven elected representatives on the government benches voted in favour. The opposition benches were empty.
Speaker Michael Perkins told Harris the Bill has failed to meet the constiutional requirement.
