Ministry of Information, Communications, and Technology and Posts in National ICT Center, C.A.P. Southwell Industrial Site, is inviting applicants to apply for the job of Programmer I in the Department of Technology.
Job role and Description
Programmer I is a junior programmer under the supervision of Programmer II; the role is to provide support to design, develop, implement and maintain websites.
The applicant will have to write basic code for computer programs and mobile applications.
Additional Programmer, I will be involved in
- maintaining debugging and troubleshooting systems and software to ensure that everything is running smoothly
- Handle the management and updating of websites and applications.
Skills required for the post
- Experience interviewing end-users for insight on requirements and user interface.
- Knowledge of wed development including HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript.
- Possesses basic graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Hands-on experience developing websites using Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress will be preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Pay keen attention to detail.
Education qualification needed
The applicant must possess at least a High School Diploma or College associate degree and must also have three years of experience in graphic design and website development using Content Management Systems such as WordPress. Additionally, the applicant must have experience in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Blender will be an advantage.
The Programmer I candidate will receive a salary of K10 -K21 ($22,704 – $ 39,996) per annum.
