The St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) successfully completed the 2025 edition of the Annual Summer Safety Programme. The concluding ceremony was hosted on Friday with a lot of pomp and show with several members of the community becoming part of the celebration.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) has shared that they finished the week long summer safety programme with a march. The officials, along with youngsters who participated in the summer programme went around Basseterre.

The officials have shared that a fire tender vehicle was leading the march on the front end periodically sounding the siren. The match attracted the attention of several locals of Basseterre while the stakeholders celebrated the successful conclusion of the event.

The annual summer safety programme is being hosted at an opportune time as the nation is simultaneously conducting hurricane preparedness drills. In the last week, the youngsters who participated in the summer safety programme got the opportunity to absorb practical knowledge and skills.

The summer safety programme trained the youngsters in safety and preparedness with a number of interactive sessions.

During the five day summer safety programme, the youngsters participated in several hands-on sessions and learned about fire prevention and road safety. In view of the Trans Atlantic Hurricane Season which is currently ongoing, the youngsters also learned about disaster preparedness.

Further, they held discussions regarding crime and violence and improved their awareness in the areas. The St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) called the initiative a remarkable success as many young participants had the chance to participate.

The annual summer safety programme has been helping youngsters across the country in becoming knowledgeable about issues of public concern. With the knowledge gained during the summer safety programme youngsters can help their fellow nations in emergencies.

The organization has been dedicated to making sure that the members of the community have the equipment to contribute productively to national development. The organization also encourages the youngsters to make good choices in what they want to do with their talents.
