In a remarkable way towards enhancing athlete well-being and performance, the SKN Athletics Association proudly welcomes Dr Dasima Martin-Burkett as its newest team member and sole sports doctor within St Kitts and Nevis.
Dr Martin-Burkett’s task is to complement the already competent staff in ensuring athletes are best prepared for training and competition.
Denzil Llewellyn Douglas extended Congratulations to Dr Dasima Martin-Burkett, who is currently the only sports Doctor within the Federation and the newest Team Member of the SKN Athletics Association.
Dr. Martin-Burkett brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to the field of sports medicine. She was
- Medical Officer with over five years experience in Imary Care and Family Medicine.
- a Non-Dimmunicable Disease Coordinator is assisting regional Health Authorities with the execution of best practices. Passionate about Sports and Exercise Medicine with the goal of contributing to the development of the industry in the Caribbean.

Dr Martin-Burkett worked at SOUTHEAST REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY (SERHA) JAMAICA as a Medical Officer Diagnosing and treating Non-Communicable and Communicable Diseases, performing minor surgical procedures, e.g. Suturing, Incision and Drainage, Administering Oral, Intramuscular, Subcutaneous and Aerosolised.
