Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: SKELEC (St. Kitts Electricity Co. Ltd) informed the residents of Ogee’s Ghaut about the power outage in their area due to planned maintenance work on Wednesday from 9:00 to 3:00 pm.

This maintenance outage is deemed important to ensure the quality and reliability of the electricity company. The department informed the consumers of the affected area regarding the outage a day before through their official social media handle (Facebook).

“SKELEC wishes to advise that there will be a planned maintenance outage on Wednesday 1st May 2024. There will be an interruption of supply from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm in Ogee’s Ghaut”, remarked SKELEC.

However, St. Kitts Electricity Co. Ltd has also said that the supply may be interrupted later and restored earlier than the scheduled times as the timings are subject to change. The electricity department has extended their apology for the inconvenience caused to the residents due to power outage.

SKELEC has been running scheduled maintenance regularly in different parts of St. Kitts for the last three weeks. The officials are committed to provide quality services and facilities for all the people of the twin-island Federation.

They have taken several innovative steps to ensure that the work should be done within the scheduled time. The St. Kitts electricity department is taking every possible step to protect the consumer appliances from the damage.

Moreover, the customers are urged to safe their equipment and appliances at all times. Recently, the people have experienced an emergency outage in the Parson Ground on Tuesday. The emergency crews were already arrived at the location for necessary reparations.

The affected residents may reach to the SKELEC by calling on their helpline numbers i.e., 1 (869) 465-2000 or 1 (869) 661-2013. They can also visit their head office – P O Box 245, Central Street Basseterre, St. Kitts, in case of any emergency.

Customers are asked to check the Facebook handle and website of SKELEC for more updates regarding the outages and restoration times.
