St Kitts and Nevis: The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Education Dr Geoffrey Hanley extends heartiest gratitude for the donation of fans from the Tucker Clarke Primary School alumni.

Minister Hanley, also the Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #1, shared the glimpses of the donation and meet with the alumni students on his official social media account.

While sharing the pictures, the Minister of Education noted that he warmly welcomed this thoughtful gesture from the alumni of the Tucker Clarke Primary School, which is notably, the alma mater of Minister Geoffrey Hanley as well.

The climate change has brought significant and more intense heat, and the students of the nation are feeling the effects of both in and out of the classroom.

Minister Hanley said that the donations of these fans were the need of the hour, especially following his own donation of fans to schools in the constituency in June.

Through his Facebook post, the Minister also encouraged other alumni to join in and lead similar initiatives as a way of giving back to educational institutions.

Dr Geoffrey Hanley also extended special thanks to Shawn White for spearheading this project and to Dr Terrance Martin and Adisa Mills, the former students for their scholarship.

“We look forward to many more contributions. It is especially heartwarming to see the children of alumni continuing this tradition of giving,” he added.

Notably, several significant donations of fans have been made to the schools across various communities in St Kitts and Nevis under ‘The Cool Schools Initiative.’

This initiative has been designed as the climate comfort project that has its main focus on mitigating the impact of the rising temperatures due to the increasing climate crisis.
