The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources in the government of St Kitts and Nevis organized the Agri-Easter Night Market ahead of Easter Sunday. Samal Duggins, who handles the responsibility for the Ministries, took to his social media account to share some glimpses into the critical event. The Minister of Agriculture attended the agriculture night Market to encourage the local farmers and food producers in St Kitts. 

The event occurred at the Basseterre Public Market on April 5, 2023. The agri-Easter Night Market featured a variety of Produce for the locals to choose from for their festive feasts on Easter Sunday. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources staged the night market at the public market in Basseterre. 

The event will feature a variety of food producers dealing in fresh Produce of vegetables, fruits, fresh meats and fish. The other food items available for sale at the night market are: 

  • Coconut dumplings
  • Saltfish
  • Coconut water
  • Grilled seafood

The team of agri-preneurs arranged the agriculture market from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The Minister of Agriculture, Samal Duggins, who attended the Agriculture market, noted on his social media that the event was a success. He secured some of the freshest okras, eggplant, breadfruit herbs and thyme and coconut for his Good Friday feast from the Agri night market.

Samal Duggins further asserted that the monthly Agri Night Market continues to be a success story for the agri-preneurs of the island nation. The Minister of Agriculture in the government of St Kitts and Nevis is committed to uplifting the food producers of the federation. 

Earlier last week, March 30, 2023, he travelled to a similar agriculture market hosted by the sister island of Nevis. He encourage the people engaged in Agriculture at the sister island. The Minister has promised to organize regular agriculture markets for the people of St Kitts.

Minister Samal Duggins believes that through this initiative, the people engaged in the Agriculture sector will get the exposure that they deserve for their hardwork. The agriculture market will additionally help them in making profit off their produce.
