The government of St Kitts and Nevis has invited the Public Consultations to allow people to share their views on the upcoming National Budget. The officials have shared that the people will be able to give their inputs in this matter of national importance.
The public consultations, which open every year before the national budget address, form a very important part of the government’s dedication to transparency and and good governance.
The budget address highlights the administration’s plans for the next financial year and in light of this, the consultations give the people an idea to lay down their ideas and suggestions in front of their administration.
The people of the island nation have been sharing their inputs on the National Budget with the administration of the country. The officials have shared that the consultations are being hosted by the the Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Cabinet Secretariat.
The organizations are coming together to host a series of consultations before the national budget goes live. The theme of this year’s public consultations is: Turning Conversations into Action: Building Our Sustainable Island State Together.
The theme is reflective of the efforts of the administration to align their development goals with the sustainable island state agenda. The government has shared that they want to make sure more and more people can attend the event and be directly involved in the future of the country.
The Prime Minister and his team at the cabinet have maintained that it is important for the people to be involved in the decision making process of the country. As such, the first of the series of consultations will be hosted on October 15, Wednesday.
The event will be hosted at the Saddlers Primary School and will remain open for all the nationals and citizens. The other consultations are yet to be scheduled and the information regarding those will be shared in due course.
