St Kitts and Nevis Carnival activities officially commenced on July 23, 2023. The Pageant Planning Committee announced that they have individual interviews with the 2023 Miss St Kitts and Nevis pageant applicants.

Pageant Planning Committee of the St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival assessed the mental readiness of the candidates during the interview. They also discussed several vital aspects of this year’s competition.

Meanwhile, the applicants took the opportunity to share information about their backgrounds, hobbies, and interests. At the same time, they also explained how they plan to utilize the Pageant to enhance their platforms and professional lives. According to the St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee, these interviews are crucial in selecting the most deserving candidates for the upcoming Pageant.

The Pageant Planning Committee Chairperson, Javon Liburd, expressed that he was extremely satisfied with the interviews that they conducted. He stated, “The early start to the planning and preparations for the Pageant is in order to make sure that all the contestants are emotionally, physically and mentally prepared for the competition.”

He further noted that the “committee seeks to ensure that this year’s Pageant is top tier. The committe is woking towards making the event and one of the most sought-after competitions for this year’s Nationa; Carnival.

Miss St Kitts and Nevis is open to female citizens of the twin island federation St Kitts and Nevis between 18 and 26 years of age. Registration for the Pageant closed on July 5, 2023. The pageant committee shared that they will select 6 contestants will be chosen to compete in the Pageant. The Miss St Kitts and Nevis December 28, 2023.

The reigning National Carnival Queen 2023, Shafeyah Guishard, will compete regionally in the Miss Jaycees Queen Pageant in Antigua. The event will occur on July 31, 2023. Further, she will represent her home, St Kitts and Nevis and in the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant in Nevis. The event is slated for August 7 2023.
