Police on Wednesday affirmed that two masked attackers fired bullets at 4 persons in Brown Hill, Nevis on Sunday evening.
Police officers reacted to news of gunshots being fired in the proximity of the Golden Grove Projects at around 10:15 pm on January 20, 2020, a police statement stated.
“Inquiries so far have unveiled that two juveniles and two adults were in a yard when two masked assaulters surrounded them and fired numerous shots in their direction before escaping the disturbance. No one was wounded,” the assertion said.
Officials from the Forensics Unit sensed and processed the scene area. Pieces of evidential significance were taken into Police confinement.
The Police have appealed to anyone who might have any knowledge in relation to this episode to call the Violent Crimes Unit (Nevis) at 469-5269 or their nearest Police Station. Inquiries into the matter are continuing.
Sunday’s event was the third gun-related conflict reported.
On January 17, a man was shot and wounded while an armed robbery at Pond’s Extension in East Basseterre.
A police report said an armed masked attacker approached the home of Shakim Joseph and directed several items be handed over. The victim was injured and hospitalised in a steady state.
Police are also investigating an armed burglary event in Camps, West Basseterre.
On January 12, around 5 am, a masked assaulter, loaded with a gun entered the man’s house and stole several objects including money before escaping the scene.
The first-morning assault on a female inhabitant of Irish Town on January 12, is also under investigation. The woman, who was not identified, was stabbed several times by the unknown attacker.
