The government of St. Kitts and Nevis, led by Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris, gave away 20 homes as part of a homeownership programme. The units are made up of two-bedroom bungalows and three townhomes.
Harris gave the keys to the Stapleton neighbourhood of St. Peter’s on Friday, and he was there to do it himself. He said that the government led by the Team Unity Party is still going to keep its promises to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. When he talked about happy families, he said that the homes were the “basic building blocks.”
We are giving more people a place to be blessed on the already very blessed islands of St. Kitts and Nevis today, so I’m happy to be here. When we asked people in St. Kitts and Nevis to vote for a Team Unity Government, we knew we had to keep our word. Prime Minister Skerrit: “The most important thing they told us to do was to build more homes for you. Your family, your friends, and your loved ones,” he said.
Besides building more homes for the people, the Prime Minister said that his government is also making sure that the homes are bigger than the ones built by the last government.
There are two-bedroom homes that range in size from 876 square feet to 1,651 to 1,800 on three-bedroom homes today.

The government of St. Kitts and Nevis is still meeting its promises, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. At the height of the pandemic, the government gave the largest stimulus package that gave people who were affected by the pandemic money each month.
