The Ministry of Health in the government of St Kitts and Nevis is making some significant efforts to uplift the country’s health sector. The prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, who also handles the responsibility for the ministry of health in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, welcomed a team of medical practitioners from Canada.
The team of medical trainers came to the Joseph N. France General Hospital on July 31. Dr Drew was extremely excited to welcome the team as they would play an instrumental role in bringing the medical capabilities of the federation to the top of their game. The team will provide vital training to the staff of the Haemodialysis Unit at the Joseph N. France (JNF) General Hospital.
The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew was present at the JNF General Hospital for the welcome ceremony of the event. The prime minister stated that the administration and his health ministry were anticipating the team’s arrival from Canada. The training that they would provide to the medical practitioners of the country.
The team which came to St Kitts and Nevis for the training initiative were also responsible for procuring the dialysis machines for the JNF General Hospital Authorities in the country. The dialysis machines were important to developing the health infrastructure of the country.
Dr Terrance Drew shared the update of the arrival of the team on his official social media account. He shared that Charles Estridge leads the Team. He is a Biomedical Technologist and a proud national residing in Canada. Dr Drew claimed he played a pivotal role in procuring fifteen (15) much-needed dialysis machines for the country.
The dialysis machines were a highly critical need for the people of the country. They were brought to the country back in May of this year.
The team comprises two seasoned registered nurses, Yee Young Sang and Carmela Nelson, and Biomedical Technologist Jason Maher.
Dr Terrance Drew stated that their presence and expertise are crucial in enhancing the capabilities of healthcare professionals and ensuring optimal care for patients in need of dialysis treatment.
