St Kitts and Nevis celebrated the fathers across the country on the occasion of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 15, 2025. The Prime Minister of the country, Dr Terrance Drew took the initiative to extend his sincere best wishes to the fathers in St Kitts and Nevis.
The Prime Minister addressed the nation on this occasion and shared a congratulatory message with the various communities. In his address, Dr Drew hoped that the fathers across the country have a good day and are celebrated for their dedication to their families.
Dr Drew, who is himself a father of a young man, Terrance Drew Junior, said that the fathers are the backbone of a family unit and the whole community. He said that the families should take up the responsibility for showering their love on the fathers in the family on this occasion.
Dr Drew also hoped that the families honor and appreciate the fathers for their dedication to the well-being of their families. In commemoration of Father’s Day, St Kitts and Nevis organised real events in different communities.
The aim of these events was to honor the men of the communities, whose contribution is often left undervalued. On father’s day, PM Terrance Drew organized a football match and invited all the fathers and non fathers of the community.
With the fathers in a single team and the non fathers in the other, the men of the country convened for a friendly match. This match was witnessed by the Prime Minister’s very own Conaree Community and was hosted at the Brand New Conaree Football Stadium.
The Prime Minster, Dr Terrance Drew was very proud to note that the men of the community were able to participate in the football matches. He was also happy to see the turnout for the football match, bot only in the grounds, but also the stands and audiences.
At the end of the matches, all the participants walked away with tokens of appreciation and Commemoration of Father’s Day.
