Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, along with his Cabinet, has recently approved and appointed two new ambassadors to represent the interests of the Federation on international platforms.
Nerys Chiverton has been appointed the Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York. Donya L. Francis was appointed as the Ambassador to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for St Kitts and Nevis’ He will be stationed in Taipei.
Both the New Ambassadors will assume their new roles from the month of September 2022.
Following their elections, the newly elected Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew and his cabinet of ministers voted to remove the former incumbents of these two posts from their positions in August.

Jasmine Huggins served as the St Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Ian Liburd was the former Permanent Representative to the United Nations
The Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Nerys Chiverton is a career diplomat. She has served for more than ten years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of St Kitts and Nevis as a senior official and foreign policy advisor .
She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Law and Society from York University, Toronto, Ontario, and a Master of Arts Degree in Advance International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
Donya Francis is a Communications Specialist and Trained English Teacher. He has completed his Bachelor’s Degree from Ming Chuan University International College. He has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. He also has a Master’s Degree From Taipei Medical University in Global Health and Development.
The new ambassador to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for St Kitts and Nevis, Francis spent a total of six years in Taiwan, where he took the opportunity to learn and immersed himself in the culture and language.
