Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, has taken to his social media account to announce that the administration under his charge is starting to renovate the home of the first national hero Robert L Bradshaw and constructing a museum in its place. The Prime Minister is highly involved in the project. He announced the government’s intention to create a museum honouring the national hero.

Robert L Bradshaw was the first premier of St Kitts and Nevis and is considered the first national hero of St Kitts and Nevis. In his honour, the administration of Dr Terrance Drew has started the construction work for the museum premises. Dr Drew also shared some updates on the progress that they have made in the project during the Labour Day parade hosted on May 1, 2023.

The Prime Minister shared that the people should consider the home of the First National Hero of St Kitts and Nevis a symbol of self-sacrifice and putting the nation above self. Further, PM Dr Drew believes the place should also be a message for the people visiting us. According to Dr Terrance Drew, the international community must be told that the people who have significantly contributed to nation-building are highly esteemed in St Kitts and Nevis.

The project will take a total duration of five months. Dr Terrance Drew expects the project to conclude before the 2023 edition of National Heroes Day, September 16, also the 107th birth anniversary of Robert L Bradshaw. The Office of the Prime Minister in St Kitts and Nevis oversees and coordinates the project’s effort.

Victor Williams is serving as the Project Manager and Project Lead for the construction and renovation of the home of Robert L Bradshaw. Meanwhile, Arlene Edwards of Williams Architectural and Peter Jenkins of Jenkins Limited will also be a part of the project. Lennox Warner is also making contributions to the team on bahlaf of the Lennox Warner & Partner,

Other team members are Travis Merritt of DreamWorks Design and Calvin Esdaille. Ashmaine Allers is the project manager on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Office.
