The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew and his Cabinet of ministers met with the secretary general of the CARICOM, Dr Carla Barnett.
During the meeting, the leaders of the Caricom engaged in a detailed conversation with one another. The Secretary General of CARICOM got the opportunity to brief the new Cabinet of Ministers in St Kitts and Nevis today on the work of the Community, including Human Resources Development, Health and HIV.
The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, is also the minister of health in the national government. As the head of state of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has been entrusted with the responsibility of dealing with issues about Human Resource Development, Health and HIV/AIDS.
The leaders of CARICOM hosted the meeting on Monday, October 31, 2022. It was the first interaction between the CARICOM Secretary General and the Cabinet Ministers of the government of St Kitts and Nevis.

Dr Carla Barnett met the newly appointed CARICOM Youth Ambassadors after this meeting.
On the other hand, CARICOM Ministers of Environment convened a virtual meeting on Friday, October 28, 2022, to open the 105th Special Meeting of Council for Trade and Economic Development.
Minister of Sustainable Development and Environment in the Government headed by Dr Terrance Drew and outgoing Chairperson of COTED, Dr Joyelle Clarke, led the Ministerial Caucus. The representatives from Belize, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Trinidad and Tobago attended the session.
COTED promotes CARICOM’S trade and economic development. At the same time, It also supervises the operations of Caricom Single Market and Economy (CSME).
The objective of the virtual session, convened on Friday, October 28, was to prepare for the 27th session of Conference of Parties (COP27) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Egypt and the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) in Canada.
Through this session, CARICOM wants to ascertain that the whole Caribbean region would present a unified approach at both conferences at the international level.
