With an attempt to woe the voters ahead of upcoming general elections this year Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Timothy Harris during a press meet said that with the opening of various new hotels in the Federation, more than 1000 persons would secure new jobs in the Federations hotel industry in 2020.
PM Harris said that providing job opportunities the the people of Federation is a positive sign that the tourism sector would continue to grow over the coming year.
“Koi hotel in St Kitts which had its soft opening on Jan 10, have accomodation 102 rooms. The resort is under the HILTON Curio Collection Brand. This beautiful seaside resort has already provided employment to around 100 persons of the Federation and this number would increase as the Hotel’s market profile strengthens,” PM Harris said.
He further added that the construction work continues apace on phase one of Sea View Vista Hotel, while T-LOFT at Ramada is expected to bring Phase one of its properties to successful completion this year.
PM said that all these positive developments would provide several good employment opportunities to the people of St Kitts and Nevis and strengthen Federation’s reputation as the most sought-after tourism destination in the region.
He added that the strengthening of the tourism sector indicates that “international investors are also confident in our economy and Federation is heading towards right direction, and they want to be part of that journey. We welcome their enthusiasm and will be working hard over the coming year to attract even more investment.”
