Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew congratulated the Leeward Islands Under-19 Team for their excellent performance in CWI Rising stars Under 19 Women’s T20 Championship.
He shared heartfelt wishes through his official Facebook account on July 15, 2024.
“I want to congratulate the Leeward Islands Under-19 Women’s Team for their outstanding performance in the CWI Rising Stars Under-19 Women’s T-20 Championship. The team finished 2nd in the championship,” stated PM Drew.
PM Dr Terrance Drew highlighted the win of the team by sharing glimpses of the winning team and of Jahzara Claxton holding the trophy for being the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the tournament.
The team achieved a historic milestone by finishing second in the prestigious West Indies Rising Stars Women’s U-19 Championship.
The Prime Minister especially congratulated the members of the team from St. Kitts and Nevis- Jada Collis, Aliyah Weekes, Kayzg Boyles, Jcazenique Hodge, Zara Skerrit, Gabrielle Harrylall, and the captain Jahzara Claxton, who was titled the MVP of the Tournament.
PM Dr Drew also mentioned that earlier this year he has appointed Jahzara Claxton as the Youth Board Member on the Violence as a Public Health Perspective Committee. Her excellent performance and her service, both stand as a shining example to her peers.
In addition to this, PM Terrance Drew commended Sharlene Martin and Percy Daniel who has been serving as Team Manager and Assistant Coach respectively, both of them belonging to the Federation.
Sports Minister Samal Duggins and Minister of Foreign Affairs Denzil Douglas have also took their Facebook to congratulate the team and have highlighted the outstanding performance showcased by the captain Jahzara Claxton.
“Congratulations once again to the entire team. We continue to support your efforts,” expressed PM Dr Terrance Drew with delight.
