In a rare display of displeasure Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris hit out hard at his coalition political outfit as in upcoming general elections, People’s Labour Party has demanded to contest from 4 four seats an increase of 2 seats than in 2015 elections.
“To directly overpower, People’s Action Movement in St Kitts, PLP has now demanded to contest from 4 seats in upcoming general elections of St Kitts and Nevis”, party’s internal source revealed on condition of anonymity.
SKN News perceived information from a credible source that in a meeting PLP leadership decided that Ian Liburd will now contest on the banner of PLP rather than PAM, along with that Harris’ party will additionally contest from 1 more constituency for which the candidate has not been decided yet.

A big jibe for PAM as the largest majority party of St Kitts and Nevis will be contesting on only 4 parliamentary seats in contrast to 2015 elections when they contested on 6 seats and managed to win 4 out of total and became the largest majority in the Parliament under the coalition of Team Unity.
There is no wonder that Dr Timothy Harris is pressing coalition to overpower other political fronts of his own coalition in upcoming general elections as another coalition party Concerned Citizens’ Movement (CCM) leader and Premier of Nevis, Hon Mark Brantley is rapidly approaching as the new face of Team Unity coalition, and undoubtedly there will be chances of him to be on the Prime Minister’s position if Team Unity manages to gain the majority in the Parliament.
The risk management policy of Dr Timothy Harris is that to pull off other political companions out of the race and gain at least higher majority in Parliament compared to other allies to retain on the supreme chair.
It is important to mention here that, Dr Timothy Harris, who is Prime Minister of SKN, his political party has only 1 seat in the Parliament, that too of his own seat. Under the banner of Team Unity, PM Harris’ party contested on 2 seats in St Kitts out of which one was lost in 2015.
