St Kitts and Nevis citizens living in Anguilla have been made part of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) worldwind tour by leaders in hearing from the disapora on the diabolical plan by Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris to take away their rights to vote in the upcoming 2020 general elections.
After meeting with nationals in neighborning St Maarten/St Martin, the three candidates – Ambassador Steve Wrensford, St Christopher 4; Ambassador Kenneth “Kenny” Douglas and Mr Leon Natta-Nelson – were greeted as they arrive in Anguilla by boat.
The visit to Anguilla and St Maarten comes following the turnout of hundreds to nationals to recent town hall meetings in Miami, New York, Toronto, Tortola, St Thomas and St Croix and tremendous display of support and enthusiastic reception that the message of hope and liberation has taken root and that the overseas nationals are ready to join with the local residents and citizens to change the Team Unity Government which has stagnated the country.
The meeting in Anguilla begins at 6.30On Sunday at the Resource Centre the Public Library in the Valley.
Leader of Opposition and former Prime minister Dr Denzil Douglas said that they in the Labour Party are truly motivated and inspired to witness the tremendous level of support and the continously rising clamour to change this incompetent corrupt and uncaring government that is led by PM Dr Timothy Harris. He said that Labour is fired up and ready to go.
“We have the winning combination with this NextGenSKN team. It makes it even clearer why PM Harris and his allies are trying hard to prevent our nationals living overseas from voting in the upcoming general elections. The display of support for SKNLP by our overseas nationals is overwhelming,” said Dr Douglas.
He said he expects PM Harris “will probably re-double his efforts to disenfranchise our nationals living overseas.”
“However, as the Leader of the Opposition, I pledge to do all in my power within the bounds of the law to ensure that any such measure to disenfranchise our overseas nationals will be strongly resisted and if passed, to be challenged in court,” he added.
