Nevis is witnessing a sports weekend on the island, hosting three separate sporting events starting on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Nevis is promoting several sports infrastructures. For this reason, the island of Nevis has been working diligently to upgrade the venues to host sports events within the country. Recently, the Grell-Hull Stevens Netball Complex was developed for the purpose will host two-day netball events.
The games will be played over the weekend between the Sadelers Ballstars, Newtown Netball Club, Revivorz, Coscab Coca-Cola Shemrock Netball Club and LHD Auqua Ballerz. All the teams will play two opponents to qualify for the next round. The first two games will be held on Saturday, and the next two will be held on Sunday.
Further, the island will also witness some cricket games. The island will host the St Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited Nevis Cricket Association T10 Tournament 2022-23. The Brown Hill Playfield in St John’s Nevis will serve as the venue for the event. The matches will also be hosted on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, the island will also see some games of women’s football on the island in the form of the 2023 Elvis Star Browne Women’s League. The Nevis Athletic Stadium will serve as the venue for the event, which will be held over the weekend, along with the 2023 track and field nationals. The track and field nationals will be hosted on Sunday, while the womens football game will be held on Saturday.
The sports events will grace almost all the sports venues on the island. The weekend will be packed full of sports events across the island.
