St. Kitts and Nevis: The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) is preparing for the acquisition of 30 acres of land in St. James. The lands are going to be further offered for sale to the citizens living in the island nation of Nevis and Diaspora.
Mark Brantley, the premier of Nevis, stated that the authorities are at the final stages where they will be acquiring over 30 acres of land at Garners Estate, St. James. The decision was made in one of the conferences held on June 19, 2024 by Mark Brantley.
The lands are being procured by the government in order to allow the people to invest in them so they could bring about significant changes in their lives.
It has also been decided that the land would be offered for sale to the residents of Nevis and Diaspora. The Premier of Nevis also added that all the lands will be sold through the Nevis Land and Housing Development Corporation (NHDLC).
The preference while giving away the land will be the first-time landowners. Notably, according to the laws, the government lands can not be offered to the residents that are restricted to the people of the country.
However, the citizens can extend their wish to acquire the land. But the first preference will be given especially to the people who are in the country and overseas.
The Premier of Nevis also appealed to the nationals living abroad and those of Nevisians who are looking forward to purchase the lands. He described the Garner’s estate as a beautiful hillside area with wonderful views of the coastline and the ocean.
Moreover, Mark Brantley, during his announcement even mentioned that the government will price the lands at a price where the people can access.
