Nevis is all set to host its regional High School Championship 2024 this Saturday and Sunday (March 9th and 10th) at the Athletic Stadium from 12 PM onwards.
The Championship will be hosted between two teams including the Charlestown Secondary School and the Gingerland Secondary School. The teams will face each other in several rounds to emerge victorious.
The Admission charges for the event are $20 for Adults, $10 for Children and $40 for Vehicle Pass/Ticket. The Match is being sponsored by the Bank of Nevis Limited, with the aim of Improving the quality of life among people. It will be held under the patronage of Lorenzo Jeffers and Sirissa Rawlins and is organised in collaboration with several non-government organisations.

The Department of Sports in Nevis has announced the information about the Championship and encouraged the communities to take part in the event. “The season so far shows this would be one for the ages. The Panthers are confident and ready, while the Lions aim to stand firm and retain the crown. Who will reign supreme?” it noted.
Last year in 2023, the Nevis High School Championship 2023 was hosted on March 11 and 12th at the Nevis Athletic Stadium. The Charlestown Secondary School Lions were the winners of the Championships after successfully defeating the Gingerland.
The team secured a total of 55 Golds, 32 silvers and 37 bronzes, while the Gingerland Secondary School captured 31 Golds, 50 Silvers and 30 Bronze. The Match was sponsored by the Bank of Nevis Limited and was hosted by the Nevis Island Administration Sports Department. The Bank of Nevis also donated a sum of $20 Thousand to host the Department of Sports in Nevis.
Notably, the event is a significant initiative introduced by Nevis’s sports department to facilitate and encourage the nation’s sports sector and encourage youth participation.
