The Ministry of Health in the government of St Kitts and Nevis has received the donation of three laptops and mobile phones. The donation was made by “The Joy Project” on the occasion of World Health Day on Monday, April 7 2025.

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew who also handles the responsibility for the Ministry of Health has thanked the Joy Project for the donation. The public service initiative was conceptualized by the First Lady of St Kitts and Nevis.

The Minister of Health shared some images from the handover ceremony which was hosted on Monday. The donation was done with the aim of supporting the government’s Maternal Care Navigator Program.

The laptops will be given to the three newly appointed Maternal Care Navigators which will help them support expectant mothers in a more meaningful way. The First Lady of St Kitts and Nevis has shared that she is delighted to support the government’s commitments.

The officials have shared that the donation was a part of the generous gift of 30 laptops that the Joy Project had received from Mario Sabga-Aboud.

The Chairman of the Global Brands Group of Companies promised to continue working with the Joy Project. The Global Brands Group of Companies is responsible for a number of popular subsidiaries across the Caribbean.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the donation will help the government selected trained midwives help the new mothers in their projects. PM Drew noted that the trained midwives working with the Health Ministry in the government of St Kitts and Nevis will be able to advocate for the mothers more passionately.

The mothers can also lean on the support given by the midwives, the Maternal Care Navigator Program is especially important for first time mothers who have little experience in advocating for their safety and comfort.

The midwives working with such mothers can help improve their experience of pregnancy and childbirth more securely and comfortably due to their experiences. First Lady Jimesha Drew said that she was proud to be a part of this initiative.
