Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, Domestic Transportation, ICT, and post-Konris G M Maynard took to Facebook and expressed gratitude for participating in the general design competition of Buckley’s Uprising.

Minister Maynard accentuated that as the administration moves towards the construction of a Monument Park to mark the birthplace of Caribbean Democracy, he had the pleasure to announce, on behalf of the Buckley’s Uprising Monument Committee, a public design competition of the Buckley’s Uprising Monument Park with a Grand Prize of $15,000.00.
Additionally Minister of Energy highlighted that Over the coming weeks, there will be a number of community engagement activities to gather all information to guide the design parameters for the competition, with the winner to be announced on Worker’s Day (Labour Day) 2024.
Furthermore, Minister Maynard expressed gratitude to St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew for his unwavering commitment to the success of this endeavour, including the announcement of the first $1,000,000.00 toward Monument Park.
The Minister of Energy also expressed gratitude to the Nyabinghi Theocracy Order for their continuous, unabated efforts in preserving the history of 28 January 1935.
The prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, also took his Facebook account and shared that he had the pleasure and privilege of participating in Buckley’s Uprising anniversary event as part of remembering those who lost their lives for justice.
