St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Sports, Creative Economy, et al., Samal Duggins celebrated 20th anniversary of empowering youth through his ‘Finding Your Passion Scholarship.’
Minister Duggins shared the highlights of the celebration on his official social media on September 9th, 2024 and noted that over the weekend he celebrated 20 years of giving back through a scholarship program that has touched many lives over the years.
Notably, the scholarship program initiative was rebranded back in 2022 as the Samal Duggins Finding Your Passion Scholarship, continuing its objective and mission to help young people discover and pursue their true calling.
Under the rebrand, the first group of individuals welcomed were Orrin Hughes, Haley James, Anthony Pedereaux, and Kaaliyah Pereira. The second cohort featured Imari Liburd, Darnye Williams, Najique Ford, and Treviah James.
The Minister leading the Scholarship Program, Samal Duggins, expressed the proud to welcome the newest members of the third cohort this weekend. The four new individuals include Jaemarli Belle, Brielle Isaac, Dremar Rawlins, and J’Nyka Robins.
Minister Duggins also mentioned that hearing the heartfelt reflections of Cohort 1, on how the ‘Finding Your Passion Scholarship’ has impacted the lives of the individuals, moved him.
In addition to this, he also expressed the delight and feeling of reward to witness how much it means to them and know that this initiative can shape a person’s future by helping them find their passion.
Remarkably, last year four individuals were awarded under the Scholarship Programme, Imari Liburd, Darnye Williams, Najique Ford, and Treviah James. All the awardees were presented with gift baskets and a HP 14 laptop each.
He also said that this scholarship is a holistic approach to education, cultivating well-rounded individuals with a focus on passion.
“Here’s to continuing this journey of empowerment,” stated Minister Samal Duggins.
