The Minister of Foreign Affairs in St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Denzil Douglas extended his warm greetings and congratulated the Antioch Baptist Church on completing 61 years since its establishment on Tuesday. The Church was founded over 6 decades ago, on March 5th, 1963 by its pioneer, the late Reverend, Dr William Manasa Connor, located in the West Basseterre Area.
While extending his greetings, Minister Douglas, quoted “A Beacon of Light and Hope” and reflected upon the contributions of the Antioch Baptist Church’s Pioneer, the late Reverend, Dr William Manasa Connor towards education in St Kitts.
He added that Dr William Manasa Connor has started several Sunday Schools in St Kitts, including St Johnson Village and St Paul’s.
Minister Douglas expressed anticipation for the Ministry of Church’s ongoing efforts to refurbish the church’s former building.
“Today, the Ministry of the Church continues, not in its former building, but in a brand new edifice which was erected to continue its holistic mission, to provide not only spiritual guidance but wholesome development,” he noted.
The Minister also congratulated Pastor Lincoln Darrel Connor, nephew of Reverend Dr William Connor and the Congregation of the Antioch Baptist Church.
“You have come this far, “61 years” by Faith leaning on the Lord.”
You cannot come down now! You cannot stop now! More years of Service and spiritual growth,” he quoted.
Meanwhile, several community members also extended their greetings and supported the Minister in his kind gesture to mark this significant milestone for the Church. A user identified as Naomi Harris mentioned, “Congratulations Antioch Baptist Church St Kitts You come thus far by Faith learning on the Lord Amen”. Another user, Beatrice Richardson noted, “Happy 61st Anniversary to Pastor Connor and the congregation. Blessings”.
On the occasion of commemorating its 61st year of establishment in St Kitts and Nevis, the Antioch Baptist Church also hosted an event on Tuesday. The Event was titled, “Let Us Hold Unservingly”, which also included a special Bible Study. The congregants participated in an impromptu ‘Bible Drill’ chaired by the Lead Pastor Lincoln Connor.
