Minister of Foreign Affairs Denzil Douglas recently paid tribute to some of the greatest figures of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP). According to Minister Douglas, these leaders played a large role in the political history of the twin island nation’s growth and that support also set the stage for the Federation’s present success.
Among those great pioneers who he mentioned about include- Rt Excellent Sir Robert L. Bradshaw, Rt Excellent Sir Caleb A. P. Southwell, Rt Excellent Sir Joseph N. France, Sir Lee L. Moore, Clarence Fitzroy Bryant, E. St. John Payne, and Charles E. Mills. These men played key roles in the formation and early success of the SKNLP. Their leadership was integral in guiding the party and the nation through times of transition and challenge.
Minister Douglas honored these pioneers on his official Facebook page. His post read, “Some of our Greatest Leaders, Pioneers, Shapers of the Great SKNLP and of SKN.
They are gone, but the Work they’ve started continues with US. We are better and Stronger because of their Dedication, Sacrifices and Commitment.”
He also recognized many other leaders who have put in great work over the years. Minister Douglas thanked them all for their service to the Federation with great passion. The post also stated that the SKNLP is a party that lives by the values and principles of those early visionaries.
SKNLP’s 93rd Annual National Conference: A Tribute to Past and Present
The St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party celebrated its 93rd anniversary with a national conference during which the party members united and looked back at their history. During the conference, a tribute was paid to its past leaders and a report on the party’s dedication to the people of St Kitts and Nevis was also shared.
The event was celebrated on Sunday, May 18 at the Manhattan Gardens in Lime Kiln, Basseterre under the theme – “Powering Progress: Championing Workers!”
