Industrial Site Daycare renamed in honor of Early Childhood Educator

The Ministry of Education in St Kitts and Nevis has renamed the Industrial Site Daycare Center (ISDCC) to the Vanta E. Walters Daycare Center. The name change was made official  on Thursday after Minister Geoffrey Hanley made the official announcement.  

The name of the Daycare Center was officially changed in honor of Vanta E Walters. She has contributed generously in the development of Early Childhood Education in St Kitts and Nevis.  

The Minister of Education was present at the name change ceremony where he recalled the achievements of Walters. The Minister highlighted that the educator has helped in strengthening Early Childhood Education in the federation.  

He was proud of the fact that Vanta E Walters was able to get the recognition that she deserved. Notably, the woman of the hour, who was given this distinct honour by the Ministry, was also present at the renaming ceremony. The Deputy Prime Minister applauded Walters for her dedicated service to the children of the federation.  

She has given tireless service to the children of the island nation. She has also developed strong systems in early childhood education that will continue to support the Ministry in ensuring that all the children get access to quality education 

She has been working to ensure that all the children can learn and grow in a supportive and nurturing environment. The Ministry is as such proud to honor the educator with this change of name from Industrial Site Daycare  to Vanta E. Walters Daycare Center.  

Director of the Early Childhood Development Unit (ECDU) Kimona Browne called Walter “The Mother of Early Childhood”. She also gave walter the creditfor changing landscape of early childhood education.  

Director of the Early Childhood Development Unit (ECDU) said that Mrs Walters is not simply an educator she is a visionary who has left her mark on the education system of St Kitts and Nevis.  

She will continue to inspire future educator, teachers, students and community for many generations to come. Vanta E Walters expressed her sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Minister Geoffrey Hanley for the honor that they gave her by renaming the Industrial Site Daycare in her name.
