St Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, is to give the wife of former Speaker Mr Ivan Buchanan a monthly stipend.
According to multiple sources, Mrs Beatrice Buchanan could receive as much as EC$8,000 from the Treasury each month for the rest of her life.
Her husband, Mr Ivan Buchanan served as Speaker of the St Kitts and Nevis National Assembly from 1985 to 1995.
He died at the age of 97 on January 14, 2019.
