The Joshua Obadiah Primary school won the 4th annual Department of Cooperatives Primary School Quiz championship. St Kitts and Nevis National Cooperative League sponsored the quiz competition between the various primary schools.
The final round of the competition took place on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the CUNA Caribbean Conference Centre.
The winning team of the Joshua Obadiah Primary School consisted of Joash Davis and Ajhannyae Stokes. The team beat out their competition with a respectable total of 65 points in the championship.
Students of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Natalie Henry and Kadmiel Davis, helped their school reach the second place with a score of 56 points. Meanwhile, Xavier Payen and Liandre Liddie of the Beach Allen school captured third place with a close score 55 points.
The winning school, Joshua Obadiah Primary school, received $1000. The teachers who assisted the students of the various primary schools in competing for a place in the competition received a $100 phone credit courtesy of FLOW.
In addition to this, the teachers also received a $50 gift card courtesy of TDC. Additionally, they received a $150 gift card courtesy of the SKNA National Bank.
Each student of the competing primary schools received participation trophies. The students were also given gift and snack baskets, fifty dollar gift vouchers and tokens courtesy of TDC.
Every competing student was also awarded cooperatives membership accounts at four competing institutions.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Marine Resources St Kitts published the championship results on their official social media handles.
The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffery Hanley, shared the results and congratulated the winning students of the championship.
In the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Hanley is responsible for Education, Youth Empowerment, Social Development, Gender Affairs, Aging and Disabilities ministries.
