The Cable, in partnership with several other entities, began an ambitious and truly valuable project to renovate the lobby of Joseph N. France General Hospital. The project began on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
PM Terrance Drew, Director of Health Facilities Dr Jenson Morton and Patricia Walters, CEO of The Cable, were among the people who attended the opening ceremony.
Patricia Walters highlighted that Cable took on the renovation project as part of its community initiative to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
CEO of Cable Patricia Walters emphasized the caple company wanted to make sure that everything they did was good for the people, not only for customers for their 40th anniversary but also for the people of the Union.
Improving the aesthetics of the lobby was part of a master plan to improve infrastructure and services at JNF General Hospital.
Dr Jenson Morton, director of health facilities, said: “We really looked at it from a personal and quality building perspective so that you would see concrete efforts and changes in different areas such as emergency care, dialysis, But one area we couldn’t ignore was the area of aesthetics. Some people point out that we don’t have a lot of clarity about the signs… and some people say that [the hospital] is dark and gloomy, and it creates a sad mood before they’ve even done anything, and that’s it. Those things can spiritually affect people’s healing and well-being.”
Prime Minister Dr. Drew praised The Cable and other private sector players for their partnership and emphasized that public-private blocks are key to St. Integral to the continued development of Kitts and Nevis.
Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew, highlighted that health is a national issue. In addition, Prime Minister said that the aesthetic improvements complement other important developments that have taken place at the General Hospital in recent months. This includes renovating the roof, hiring specialists for the hospital and expanding the scholarship of nurses to specialists in various nursing fields.
