The leader of St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party and Former Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas shared a picture on his official facebook handle where he captioned that he desires to talk to the nation about something big.
The topic of discussion remains unknown, however, the leader has asked the people to come to watch him live through his facebook and twitter handles.
The Facebook post says, “Friday is the day, Mark the date 15 November 2019, Dr. Denzil Douglas will talk about something big. Stay tuned to watch and listen on facebook and twitter.”
Former Prime Minister is becoming frequent on Social media and recently took facebook to showcase his viewpoint on the government’s action of deporting Haitians from St. Kitts and Nevis.
To share his thoughts, Dr. Denzil Douglas used Facebook live which had a tremendous response from the people.
He stated, “50+ Haitian refugees, who had fled Haiti by boats to our shores seeking asylum and a better life, were repatriated by the Harris Coalition Regime of St Kitts and Nevis to Haiti, against their will and consent, to continue to suffer and possibly die from the violence that has erupted there in recent times as the people continue their protest action in demanding the removal of the alleged corrupt President. In fact, that same day 50 persons were reported killed in the international media.”
Dr. Douglas who was the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis for two decades, is well known for his social activities. His support to give a better life to Haitians residing in SKN for a better life is applauded but the government’s action of deporting 50 Haitians while selling citizenship on sale to people of Vietnam to reside here in SKN is raising several questions.
