The Irish Primary School is experiencing closure following a fatal and traumatic incident. Following the incident, the Ministry of education is hosting a healing initiative to benefit the area’s students, teachers and parents. The incident resulted in the death of the 51-year-old security guard of the school, Dahlia Hanley.
Following the incident, the Ministry of education, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Geoffrey Hanley, announced the immediate closure of the educational institution to contain the panic caused by the situation.
Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley has recently taken to his social media account to share the after actions that the Ministry of education has taken to combat the situation.
Dr Hanley believes today (February 16, 2023) was another opportunity to continue the healing phase that comes when tragedy strikes—according to the update shared by Dr Geoffrey Hanley, the Ministry of Education presided over a staff meeting and luncheon at the St Kitts Marriot Resort with the staff of Irish Town Primary School and guidance counsellors who play an integral role in the healing process at the Irish Town Primary School following the tragic incident on Tuesday.
The Minister of Education noted in his social media update that his Ministry would continue to do its part to address this matter. Their responsibilities include keeping the parents and students apprised of the work being done behind the scenes.
Accordingly, the Ministry of education laid out an agenda for the initiative for the “healing” of the Irish Town Primary School.
