Four St Kitts and Nevis players to represent Leeward Islands Hurricanes in Regional 4 day tournament

St Kitts and Nevis: Two Kittitian and two Nevisian players have been selected in the Leeward Islands Hurricanes cricket team for the WICB Professional Cricket League Regional 4 day Tournament, having their first match against West Indies Academy on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at Coolidge Cricket Grounds, Antigua.

The St Kitts and Nevis’ players include Shelton Forbes, Colin Archibald, Jeremiah Louis, and Cameron Pennyfeather.

Elquemedo Willett from Nevis was the first Leeward Islander to represent the West Indies team against Australia in 1973.

The team will be led by Rahkeem Cornwall from Antigua, with Hayden Walsh Jr. acting as the Vice-Captain of the team.

St Kitts and Nevis’ players

Shelton Forbes will be making his debut with Leeward Islands Hurricanes while Colin Archibald regained his spot in the team.

Cameron Pennyfeather made his debut in 2017 with Combined Campuses and Colleges and will play for Leeward Islands Hurricanes for the first time. 

Jeremiah Louis has been one of the top bowlers of Leeward Islands Hurricanes for the past few seasons and was named in the West Indies Test Squad to tour England.

Leeward Islands Hurricanes

The Leeward Islands Hurricanes represents member countries of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association that includes Antigua and Barbuda, St Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands, and Saint Maarten.

The team participates in only regional tournaments and not in international competitions like the Regional Four Day Championship and the Regional Super50.

The Leeward Islands Hurricanes was founded in 1980 and is currently coached by Stuart Williams.
