St Kitts and Nevis: Five cruise ships docked at St Kitts and Nevis on the same day on Friday with thousands of passengers. Port Zante has welcomed Carnival Venezia, Celebrity Beyond, Norwegian Sky, Valiant Lady, and Emerald Sakara in one day.
Denzil Douglas- Minister of Foreign Affairs shared glimpses of the cruise ship and said that the cruise ships graced the shores of St Kits and Nevis yesterday. He said that the cruise activities have surged the tourism sector and said that this has empowered the local communities.
The first cruise of the day was Carnival Venezia which made the call at Port Zante for the first with the thousands of the passengers. The Minister of Tourism- Marsha Henderson expressed pleasure and lauded the team for their commitment towards the enhancement of the cruise activity.
She said that the partnership with the Carnival cruise lines has marked the potential of the destination in the tourism sector. The vessel is consisted of 14 decks with the capacity of carry more than 4090 passengers, offering great amenities to the tourists.
Marsha Henderson warmly welcomed the captain and passengers onboard the Carnival Venezia and exchanged a plaque to mark the visit.
The second cruise ship of the day was Celebrity Beyond, which docked at Port Zante with the arrival of thousands of passengers. It made its inaugural call to St Kitts and Nevis in December 2023, offering several facilities to the travellers.
Valiant Lady also made its call to St Kitts and Nevis, which is known for its beauty, different portrayals, and unique colour combinations. The arrival of Virgin Voyages cruise lines marked the establishment of the country as a premier destination in the Caribbean.
The Norwegian Sky also made call to Port Zante and enhanced the tourism sector with arrival of thousands of the passengers. With the capacity of 4,000 passengers, the cruise ship offers numerous travel options to the country.
Further, Emerald Sakara was the fifth cruise ship which has the capacity to carry around 100 passengers.
