St Kitts and Nevis: DJ Flames, a renowned entertainment figure extended congratulations to the Department of Creative Economy for the successful execution of the week-long Creative Arts Power Convention.
The DJ extended his wishes through a recent media statement and even though he was unable to make it to the convention due to some prior commitments, he shared his thoughts on the outcomes and impact of the event.
In his media statement, he said, “I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Department of Creative Economy for successfully hosting the week-long Creative Forum. While I was unable to attend, I have my perspectives on the forum’s outcomes and its significance for the future of our creative industries.”
He stated that the entertainment is a dynamic and collaborative industry, and so there is a need for collaboration across the board. He said that the government must continue to collaborate with the creatives and entertainers to ensure building a vibrant and thriving creative economy.
DJ Flames also raised a issue regarding the infrastructure that supports the Creative Economy. He emphasised that the industry cannot grow without the necessary resources and facilities to nurture talent.
Notably, DJ Flames has been involved in the entertainment industry since 1988, and is now preparing to launch the St Kitts Nevis Entertainers and Creatives Awards (SKNECA) in 2025. He is committed to celebrate and uplift the creatives in the Federation.
He also acknowledged the dedication of many creatives, such as Shannon Hawley, DJ Tero, and many more. DJ Flames praised the Department of Creative Economy for taking a positive step with the Creative Arts Convention.
He mentioned sharing his views with Minister Samal Duggins and Robertine Webbe, encouraging the department to consider both praise and criticism for future success.
He concluded his statement saying that continued collaboration and by including all the sectors of the creativity, St Kitts and Nevis has the potential to thrive.
