St. Kitts and Nevis is significantly growing and is on the path of becoming the Food Mecca of the Leeward Islands, and the 25 by 25 agenda is a major initiative contributing towards it. This agenda envisions food security, encourage sustainability, and boosting the local economy.

The agenda’s vision impacts each and every aspect of the food supply chain. The food supply chain includes everything, from meat and crops to aquaculture and fisheries.

The prime objective of this agenda is to reduce the food import bills down to 25% by the year 2025. The reports have also stated that the annual $140 million food import bill reduced by 25% would lead to an overall reduction of $35 million.

St. Kitts and Nevis is taking noteworthy steps in transforming local food production and reducing the import of goods. This has only been possible because of the resilient agriculture sector.

The success of the 25 by 25 Agenda would result in the progress of the nation and being recognized as the Food Mecca of the Leeward Islands. With this progress, the country will become self-sufficient in the production of specific food items as well as in food security and food production.
