A man captured in Jamaica in the 2018 killing of his girlfriend in South Burlington has been shifted to Vermont and will be summoned on Tuesday, police said.
Leroy Headley, 38, was found and captured by Jamaican officers on Feb, 5 in Negril, Jamaica, authorities said. He was moved to Vermont on Saturday and was being held without bail at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility, South Burlington police said.
Headley is confronting a charge of second-degree murder in the May 3, 2018, shooting passing of his accomplice and mom of his youngsters, Anako “Annette” Lumumba. He is initially from Jamaica, specialists said. He had a second warrant for his capture for rape, charging that he occupied with a sexual demonstration with a kid younger than 16, police said.
It was not promptly known whether Headley is being spoken to by a lawyer.
